CELEBRITY FOOTBALL MATCH – AFCB LEGENDS VS THE CELEBRITIES

Expected to draw a sell-out crowd, the event will take place on Sunday 18th July, at 11.30 am with the kick off at 3pm. A significant allocation of funds raised by the match will be donated to Julia’s House, Poole’s Hospice for Children and the Youth Cancer Trust. The match will not only celebrate the club’s promotion to npower League 1 but will continue the bond between club and community by supporting crucial projects that benefit local, sick and disadvantaged children.

LOOKING FORWARD TO LEAGUE 1 SOUTH!

After so many long, long trips last season, next season’s League 1 campaign gives Bournemouth less miles to travel for many years! The 2009-10 season finally came to an end on Sunday with Dagenham & Redbridge securing promotion in the final match, beating Rotherham 3-2 at Wembley! On the previous day, Millwall beat Swindon 1-0 to ensure another local derby for the Cherries.

So, we can now look forward to locals games against Southampton, Yeovil, Swindon, Brighton, Exeter, Bristol Rovers, Brentford, Charlton, Leyton Orient, Dagenham & Redbridge, Plymouth, reasonable length trips to MK Dons, Colchester, Walsall and compared to last season, only a few long distance games!

Season tickets are now on sale for what should be a fantastic and highly competitive campaign!

WILL REYNOLDS CHARITY MATCH UPDATE

You may have read about 16 year old Will Reynolds who received 50% burns in tragic accident. Young Will is currently receiving treatment and when he goes home, a special room is being built for his to help his recuperation and to ensure he has a normal life as possible. AFC Bournemouth are looking to raise funds to help Will.

This Friday at Dean Court, there are two matches, kicking off at 12.30 pm and 1.45 pm.

You can play in the game kicking off at 1.45 pm for just £25 per person, with Russell Beardsmore managing one side and Neil Moss the other and the three match officials all offering their services voluntarily.

If you would like to play in the match, please call Martin Wooten on 07880 885636. Spaces to play on the hallowed turf at AFC Bournemouth are now very limited, so please contact Martin as soon as possible. It’s not only an unbelievable chance to play on the Dean Court pitch, but you will be helping a very worthy cause.

BEALES PROJECT GETS UNDERWAY

AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust in partnership with Beales Department Store began a 20 week Saturday morning coaching session last week for young people at Iford Lane Playing Fields.

Over twenty 7-14 year olds took part in the different practices including dribbling, turning, shooting and matches.

Head of Community, Steve Cuss said “We are grateful to Beales Department Store for their support and hope the children will enjoy the sessions which will continue to mid August”.

Harry Redknapp has launched AFC Bournemouth’s new online ticket and retail website AFC Bournemouth Direct, www.afcbdirect.com. The website gives supporters the opportunity to buy match tickets for all the forthcoming home fixtures at Dean Court, as well as browse the online shop and buy merchandise including replica kits, gifts and accessories.
The website has been designed to be very user friendly and allow supporters to buy tickets or merchandise within minutes. AFCB Direct can be accessed via the Club’s Official Website www.afcb.co.uk and means supporters can purchase match tickets and merchandise 24/7.
